We stayed in site 3 in a 19.6 van, would be careful with an inroad van getting down there. Sites are badly numbered and stupidly laid out... But we were right on the beach and loved it.
Beautiful spot by the water. We had a 2 WD which was ok with one steep/ uneven bit but managed it fine.

Very nice spot! We booked first at the tourist information center at Coral bay, it was 15 aud per car. Completely worth it. There are no facilities. We booked the same morning and there were plenty of free spots.
Large, beautiful area with spots right at the beach or up the hill. Beautiful sea view with amazing sunsets! There are no facilities, please put your toilet paper in the bin, not in the nature!! You have to book your spot at the visitor Center in Denham, via email (including credit card details) or phone (only Telstra) You can only book your spot for the same day and can only stay for one night, so you have to switch between the four different campgrounds if you want to stay for a couple of days. We stayed for 6 nights and switching back and forth to the different sites was no problem at all!
Super nice experience! We were almost on the beach, just one other camper around. Beautiful night sky. Very windy though so I’d make sure to pick a spot that’s more protected from the wind because it got quite intense throughout the night.
Very rough corrugated dirt road getting in. Lots of small and interesting places to camp. Was windy when we were there.
Best experience ever. So quiet and pretty To book an overnight camp You must have a permit per night per vehicle for up to four people. Permits can only be issued on the day that you intend to camp, we DO NOT take advance bookings. Permits are for 24 hours and restricted to ONE NIGHT ONLY at ANY of the four campsites. For example if you stay at Eagle Bluff one night, you cannot stay at Fowlers camp the following night. To buy a permit, please contact the Shark Bay Discovery and Visitor Centre in person or calling 08 9948 1590 and paying via credit card, please also have your vehicle registration number handy. The sites are patrolled by a Ranger, however you cannot buy the permit from the Ranger.
Beautiful spot by the river and ocean if you go down the gravel road. NO CAMPING ON BEACH. Ranger checks and fines. Campsite further up the road and permit needs to be purchased beforehand . Very worth it!
Great location, shell base, stayed 6 m from waters edge, vista to die for. Matt the ranger very passionate about job, area and just good fellow. Pre pay your $15 by phone (office hours) helps to maintain, improve and develop these sites, road graded while we were there. Please take your rubbish with you.
