Doubtful Sound Day & Overnight Cruise RealNZ
Doubtful Sound Day & Overnight Cruise RealNZ
I really wanted to see the sounds and did not find any other way to access one, so I booked a cruise as I heard a lot about them. I don't like busy touristic places so I choose Doubtful which is less busy than Milford. It was a very unpleasing experience to see this beautiful place being ruined by people like me paying for boats polluting the water and the air and ruining gold places like this. The speakers were so loud that it was echoing in the fjord, the boat was making a very strong noise continuously, so that it would ruin the tranquility of the place and disturb everybody in the fjord, animals included (no wonder why they are endangered). The crew was very nice though. External speakers and petrol engines should be forbidden in such places. Only silent electric engines, kayak, sailing, rowing...
Overnight cruise to the Sound.. The best experience ever! Company is very professional, nothing was average, everything excellent and with high quality. We really enjoyed it. Highly recommended! Every single cent is worth! Definitely the MUST ;)
Great trip. Have him close heavy rain and is worthwhile despite poor visibility and rain. Very nice guides.
It was great. Definitely worth the tour. First over the Manila Lake, then a dirt road with a bus over a pass, and then 3 hours by boat to the Tasman Sea. Better than Milford Sound!
Just exceptional mm in the rain it was fantastic I think it's better in the rain :)
“Thanks for posting. Yes, Fiordland is great in all types of weather. Glad you enjoyed your trip with us. The Real Journeys Team”
What a fantastic day! Very interesting and informative commentary. Spectacular scenery. Go on, spoil yourself, it's worth it.
Yes, it’s expensive but it’s worthy. Doubtful Sound is 10 times larger than Milford Sound and the trip lasts 7-8 hours. We saw a NZ fur seal colony and were surrounded by more than 10 humpback whales ? Trip is great and nature guides are well qualified!
So nice tour, yes. Doubtfulsound-Cruise would not do that again at this price and would not recommend it
The 08.00 cruise is cheaper than the 10.30 cruise, but we still found it quite expensive ($250 pp). The nature was spectacular, and the crew could tell very interesting facts about it. We couldn’t make it all to the Tasman sea because of heavy weather. It was a pity that we didn’t see dolphins, penguins and seals.
We chose the day cruise since the road was closed to Milford sound. Lots of waterfalls, though some were hard to see due to rain and mist. Overall just an ok experience. Not really worth it when it's raining
